Due to the lasting effects of the tropical storm's path through our area, the park remains temporarily closed until further notice. The immediate area has suffered landslides, flooding and an extreme number of downed trees and powerlines. Most of the area is without power and internet. Cell service is improving but still spotty. The Stewardship Foundation works to ensure this mountain will remain an unspoiled haven for the astonishing variety of plants and animals found here, while welcoming and accommodating the thousands who visit every year.
