It’s a sunny morning at Grandfather Mountain with increased clouds expected this afternoon.  This Monty Combs image looking up toward Linville Peak shows the color really starting to pop up on Grandfather.

While the majority of trees in the NC High Country are still green, the journey from town to town is becoming more colorful every day. Spotty color can be found in most areas above 3,500 feet. The intersection of NC 105 and NC 184 is typically a good early location to look for color.
