April is when we can finally allow ourselves to believe that spring is coming. The first signs are the ephemeral wildflowers that begin sprouting from the forest floor. When the phlox and fringed phacelia come out at the head of the Profile Trail, you know that it is time to head outside again! The woodland treasures abound. Bluets, dwarf iris, trout lilies, squirrel corn, violets, lady slippers and many varieties of trillium. You’ve never had so much fun walking in the woods!
