Tuesday’s sunset cast the viewscape at the Blue Ridge Parkway’s Flat Rock Overlook ablaze with autumn light and fall color, which continues to spread downward from the High Country’s loftier elevations. According to Dr. Howie Neufeld, Appalachian State University biology professor and the official “Fall Color Guy” of Western North Carolina, “…the rain has moved on, and the sun is out, and temperatures have dropped — all perfect conditions for furthering along fall foliage colors. I expect this week will be great viewing and also this weekend.” Photo by Skip Sickler | Grandfather Mountain Stewardship Foundation
