SUMMARY:Youth Climate Summit 2027
DESCRIPTION:Calling all middle and high school students! Showcase a project that you are doing at your school that helps mitigate climate change – benefiting their school\, community or the environment! \nAll attendees must register in advance. Register here by Feb. 6\, 2027 at 8 p.m.\nThe Summit will have cap of 50 students and is open to public school and homeschool students in grades 6 – 12.\nEvery registered student may bring one adult guest. \nSnow date: March 20\, 2027 \nThe Youth Climate Summit is an opportunity for middle and high school students to find hope and inspiration in the topic of Climate Change. Individuals or groups will bring a display of a project or art instillation that they have worked on that makes a positive impact on the natural world. There will be a walk-through poster session at the end where students will present their green projects that they did in their community and/or schools. \nGuests will also have the chance to hear from special guest speaker\, Brad Panovich\, WCNC-TV’s Chief Meteorologist. Panovich is known for his ability to make topics easier to understand through visuals and hands-on elements and he’s a great friend to Grandfather Mountain. He will speak about the climate and the positive opportunities kids have to make a difference. \nThis is a great opportunity for kids to find others in their community who also care for our changing climate! \nMore about Guest Speaker Brad Panovich:\nBrad Panovich is a well-known and respected meteorologist who has been working for WCNC-TV in Charlotte\, North Carolina since 2003.
