NOTE: This Educator Workshop is intended specifically for educators — not the general public.
The mission of Leave No Trace is to use the power of science, education, and stewardship to ensure a sustainable future for the outdoors and the planet. Participants of this two-day Leave No Trace Trainer Course learn the essential skills, ethics, and techniques for educating others about low impact practices when recreating outside. Trainer Courses typically take place over two consecutive days and involve more than half of the course outdoors. Graduates of a Trainer Course are prepared to offer Leave No Trace Awareness Workshops for their community.
Join Erin Smith, a Leave No Trace Master Educator and one of Grandfather Mountain Stewardship Foundation’s own Interpretation and Education staff members, as participants explore, learn and implement the seven Leave No Trace principles into their daily lives and educational programming
NC EE Certification Credit: Criteria II, 16 hours and CEU credit are available.

About Grandfather Mountain Educator Workshops
Grandfather Mountain’s Educator Workshop series invites educators to take advantage of the mountain’s classroom in the clouds. This is an opportunity to learn and have fun, while earning certification as an environmental educator in North Carolina. These programs offer credits with Criteria I, II and III programs. All workshops take place at Grandfather Mountain and may include some walking, so participants are encouraged to bring appropriate footwear and be prepared for inclement weather. Learn more.
