Grandfather Mountain Campfire Stories
August 19, 2022 @7:30 pm - 9:30 pm
$42.00 – $50.00
Enjoy stories around the campfire from interesting figures in the realms of science, conservation and environmental education, all while experiencing the wonder of Grandfather Mountain after dark.
The evening starts at Cliffside Overlook, where participants can enjoy sunset from the mountain. Staff will be available to share what natural resources make Grandfather Mountain so unique!
The group is then invited to move down to the Conservation Campus and enjoy s’mores by the campfire and hear interesting stories from the realm of conservation by our presenter, Gordon Warburton, retired N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission Biologist at the Amphitheater. In-park transportation is not provided – participants will use their own vehicles to drive up and down the mountain. Limited to 20 participants.
This event costs $50 for general admission and $42 for members of Grandfather Mountain’s Bridge Club. Registration opens below July 19.
What to Bring?
Much of your time will be spent outdoors and all programs are held rain, snow or shine. You should be prepared for a variety of mountain weather conditions and temperatures. Appropriate clothing, equipment, and footwear are very important. You’ll need a jacket on many summer evenings!
